Parenting
Perhaps the single greatest challenge in life is to be an effective parent. There is no instruction manual with this job and it is often a severely trying responsiblity. I have been assisting with childhood, adolescent and parent relationships for over 30 years and can help you develop a meaningful and lasting rapport with your children. Some of the things we cover are:
- How to deliver loving behavior in a strong and effective manner
- How to say no to your child
- Ways to take care of your self and your relationship during the tumultuous teen years
- Helping your child prepare for adulthood by assuming responsible behavior
- When to intervene in your child's problems and when to let natural consequences take their course
- The value of communication and the family meeting and how to organize that event
- Letting go of your adolescent and wishing them well as they continue their journey through life
- Recognizing your own behavior when it comes to needing to be in control and also when you are too liberal with your children
